2nd Edition - Ethics and Professionalism for Regulated Healthcare Professionals Massage Therapists' Edition (released 2022)
While maintaining the foundational knowledge from the initial text (released in 2008), the 2nd Edition Ethics and Professionalism for Regulated Healthcare Professionals – Massage Therapists’ Edition (released in 2022) which replaces the initial text adds over 100 pages of new and enhanced content.
These include extensive new chapters on the topics of Professional Collaboration and Conflict Resolution and Professional Communication Skills, each including practical exercises and case studies to illustrate application to practice. Also designed to enhance practical application a separate chapter - Core Principles of Healthcare Ethics - focusing on the application of ethical principles to practice has been added. Finally, given the importance of understanding Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the delivery of respect-focused patient care a comprehensive chapter in this area has also been included.
Significant revisions have been made to the chapters on Professional Accountability, to reflect recent updates to Codes of Ethics documents for the profession. Additionally, the original chapter on professional boundaries has been enhanced and retitled Professional Practice providing even greater clarity and understanding of the therapeutic relationship, professional boundaries, and those behaviours and attitudes which constitute professional and sexual misconduct.
In summary the 2nd edition provides an even richer and more in-depth coverage of the key concepts that support massage therapy students in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver sage, effective and ethical care.
